You started your article by highlighting the some researchers' analysis on the harmful effect on alcohol and tobacco. Yet you focused only the potential effect of alcohol and its impact on the western world. However, you refused to point out the harmful effects of tobacco or admonish its wide use. If you are going to argue that people already have a knowledge of the harmful effects of tobacco, then it would be safe to know that people already have adequate knowledge of the side effects of overconsumption of alcohol, especially to the liver.

From the conclusion of your article, you attacked a popular group of people, but fail to chastised the wide use of tobacco among Muslims after earlier alluding to the harmful effect of it. I conclude that you should correct the biases in your article. Yes, alcohol when consumed in excess, after a prolonged time could lead to health complications. But in the Western world, the implications of drinking too much alcohol at a time is strongly advertised. And operating machinery under the influence is severely punished. 

You talk about the culture of binge drinking. Yet you fail to highlight that binge drinking is common among some college students which is illegal, because most college students fall under the legal age of drinking in western countries.

I would not deny the harmful effects of too-much consumption of alcohol, but I feel this should not be used as a tool against a Christian West, but you turn a blind eye on tobacco. Alcohol in moderation has its many uses as people in temperate climates would attest to. You claim that Islam forbids alcohol but the other major religion does not. This is a mistake as the bible several times allude to the harmful and sinful effect of taking alcohol especially in excess. Of course, due to the sheer number of Christians, there are many interpretations of the Bible, as with the Koran. Many Christians interpret that alcohol should not be taken. Other Christians believe that it should be taken in moderation. But the consensus is that alcohol should not be taken in excess.
Finally, it would be good that you indicated your sources of the various analysis for one's further research.

It was not my intention to open a debate between the East and the West or rather between the two great religions Christianity and Islam but only to highlight what the experts who carried the research have mentioned. At the same time also I was not trying to dodge or turn blind eyes about the evil effect of tobacco as you mentioned which is being consumed by many Muslims.

Yes definitely cigarette causes a lot of harm although it is not mentioned in the Quran may be at that time people did not know about it. Nonetheless I will agree with you it is harmful in addition is a waste which comes under the category of extravagance. Those who are extravagant they are in fact brothers of Satan.

So both cigarettes and alcohol can come under this category. But going back to the main topic yes I dwelt much of my attention to the consumption of alcohol as clearly forbidden in Islam and suggested by the experts. Of course we all know cigarettes are being advertised and are banned in so many public places, but who can dare ban alcohol even in the Church. I am sorry I am not being critical or rude you find people are drunk and yet they go to the Church praying to who? 

A person who does not know what he is doing how can he pray? So the research carried by these experts make alcohol even more dangerous than drug such as cannabis. This is really something new this why is of interest it will open debate as the experts have suggested. 

According to them the 40 year old policy on drugs should be reviewed to take cognizance of the existing situation with regard to alcohol they classified as the 5th most dangerous substance among the series of twenty drugs tabled. My intention was pure Islam has managed to ban alcohol more than 1400 years back and any Muslim who has taken alcohol knows that he is going against the teaching of Islam and he will face the wrath of the Creator unless he makest taubah (repentance). 

Correct me if I am wrong no where in the Bible was mentioned that Alcohol was Haram (forbidden) it is only as you suggested that don't drink much rather than abstaining from the drink completely. Going back to the accusation you all know about the moral laxity immorality regarding alcohol, womanizing shamelessness, gambling adultery illegal sex gay right and so many evil practices which Christianity has no gut to come out openly and ban them for fear of people will abandon the Church.

Islam has the courage and has clearly come out and banned all these evil practices causing problem in our society. So as I said earlier whoever comes out to violate any of this injunction is doing it at his own behest and he is risking his Imaan Faith and is only him that will be responsible unlike the teachings of Christianity which says Jesus has taken all our sins.

All you need to do is to believe that is all I don't want go into detail we may end up debating between the two Religions which I don't want. I believe if it is suggested that so many Churches are going to be closed many people would not mind about them but if you try to close the pubs across Europe how would the people react. Think about it carefully. 

I leave this for us to reflect. Due to intellectual dishonesty people don't want ban alcohol the thing they love and they don't want leave it. This is why they make it legal never to make it illegal as they make drugs illegal which the experts pointed out are less harmful than the evil effect of alcoholic drink. More than 1400 years Islam has managed to ban alcohol, gambling, illegal sexual activities called zina adultery, eating of pork, immorality which the Christian West is still struggling cannot do without them.

This is the best time to reply you as it coincides with the birthday of our Dear Prophet Muhammad who came more than 1400 years when the Arabs were worse than the present evil decadence and immorality found in the Western Society. 

Within 23 years He transformed the uncivilized culture into the most truthful civilized culture making it the best nation by banning all these evil practices which people could never dream or even imagine. The debate goes on.
