Dr. Abdul Hamid Abu Sulayman in his paper"
Islamization of knowledge with special reference to Political
Science" was correct and confirmed my thought and
perspective where he said" At present, as a result of the
historical vacuum created by that dichotomy and the Military,
Political, Cultural and Colonial western influence, there has
emerged a dualism in knowledge itself.
There exists an Islamic knowledge limited in scope and
legalistic in nature, whose influence is growingless and less
with the passage of time, so much that some of the so called
Islamic States dominated by Secularism, dare amend, alter and
pervert even family and personal laws.
For some Muslims in Africa Anglophone and francophone
Countries, Muslim readers are still finding it difficult to
read pure and undiluted books on Islam due to the lack of
continuity of the Islamic Publication Bureau (IPB) Of Nigeria,
African Muslim Agency of Kuwait, Islamic Publication Centre of
South Africa and many publications units and agencies which
has died down due to Fund, War on terrorism and lack of the
mission and vision and unaware of the treats to their
religion.
The youths who are the vanguard of Islam are ignorant of
accurate principle of some fundamental Islamic Knowledge like
Islamic Government, Islamic Democracy, Islamic Economics,
Islamic Management and Administration, Islamic Mass Media,
Military Orientation in defence of Islam, Foreign Policy,
Political Affairs and Social Islamic systems.
Here I must salute and acknowledge the teaching educated by
Late Shailk Abdul Hakeem Abayomi (May Allah be pleased with
His Soul), the International Islamic Federation of students
Organization (IIFSO), IIIT and MSSN who is the past and at
present are spreading out the visionary message of who be a
Muslim by guiding Muslim readers and youths to the true and
pristine path of Allah and His Constitution. It is also worth
saying that this Organization (IIFSO) has relented in his
effort or seized to exist, Allah knows Best.
The contribution of other Organization like IIPH- Saudi Arabia
and Dawatul-Islamiyyah Lagos, Nigeria are acknowledged and
kudos to Conveying Islamic Message Society of Egypt for
sending free Islamic literatures across the globe in various
languages to who be a Muslim and Non-Muslim.
The missionary movement sponsored by foreign powers across
Africa is a big challenge to a Muslim in this millennium goal.
They are successive in the area of Education, Building
Hospitals, in Prints and Electronics Media, Youth counselling
and training and series of under ground evangelical
activities.
It is sadden that Muslims in most part of the Islamic world
are ignorant of Islamic basic tenets. Large sections of
Muslims in the so-called secular states are indoctrinated by
Western designed syllabus making us believed that a Muslim
Islamic duties are limited to performance of daily Prayers,
Fasting in Ramadhan, Pilgrimage to Mecca, Zakaat (Annual
Islamic dues), Marriage and Divorce while other important
aspect of faith are left untouched and excluded. Thanks to
Aisha Lemu and the bonds Man Shailk Ahmed Lemu for the vital
and crucial role of the TTC and dawah to the grass root
strategy who are now saving young Muslims from the shackles
and fetters of secularism to Islamic thought. I remember those
early Muslims in Nigeria who have to drop their Muslims names
before they can be admitted into the then available missionary
Schools and I exercised fear that such might start reoccurring
with the ongoing return of Schools to the missionaries in
Nigeria.
Media Bias: Dilemma of a Muslim in the planned Millennium
goal
This media campaign fosters numerous misconceptions about
Arabs and their prevailing religion, Islam. For example,
although Arabs have lived for centuries in thriving
metropolitan centers such as Rabat, Algiers, Alexandria,
Cairo, Damascus, Jerusalem, Beirut, Mecca (Makkah) and
Baghdad, and have built complex, civilized societies across
the Arab world, as well as in Europe's Iberian Peninsula, many
Westerners have been persuaded to believe that Arabs are
typically uncultured normads who live in desert tents.
Similarly, while many Americans regard OPEC - the Organization
of Petroleum Exporting Countries - as synonymous with Arabs
and the Arab world, and while the US media routinely blames
Arabs whenever OPEC decides to raise oil prices, in fact 6 of
the 13 OPEC member states are not Arab.
Also typically, American television and motion pictures often
depict Arabs and Muslims, uniquely, as religious bigots,
lacking any tolerance for the religious sensibilities of
others. In fact, for much of history, Islam has been more
tolerant of Christianity (and of Judaism) than vice versa.
Moreover, it was Jewish Zionists who established Israel, in
the "promised land" of Palestine, as a state
exclusively for the "chosen people."
While the Arabic Word "Allah" is often invoked in
American films in a way designed to evoke derision and
cynicism, conjuring an image of some weird pagan deity, in
fact "Allah" is simply the Arabic word for God. Not
only Arab Muslims, but Arab Christians and even Arab Jews, use
this Word as their term for God. Adapted from the first
chapter of the book, The Arabs and the West: the Contributions
and the Inflictions (Oct. 1999).By Abdullah Mohammad Sindis.
Financial Constrain: The dilemma of a Muslim in the
planned Millennium goal
Money is aid to be the life wire of any society .It also a
very a vital role in the life and continuity of Islamic
projects and outreach mission and human social activities.
Money constrains has ended up a lot of social and human aides
to Muslim organization while others has been forced to close
down over allegation of sponsoring terrorist activities while
millions that relies on them are now pauper and lifeless to
their responsibilities. Many hundreds of meaningful projects,
schools, hospitals, student's relief funds, hostels and other
beneficiary institutions are affected and probably shelve
their projects mainly because of lack of fund.
Alas! What do we say to a government that come to power by
ballot box "Democracy" and eventually sanctioned by
fund." Money constrain".
This is to explain that Muslims living under the millennium
goal are facing critical financial problems for failing to
have properly established the institution of zakat. Even in
some purely Muslim countries with Zakat been collected by a
central body under government supervision and authority, the
level of poverty in this countries are worst than poorest
country in Europe. This is because Muslims have no independent
financial institutions forgetting the role played by
"Bait-mal " the Islamic treasury under the
leaderships of the Prophet (saw) and the righteous Caliphs. It
is a shame on an Islamic holiest land government for joining
hands in supporting financial crackdown on Muslims
organizations under the pretext of war on terrorism .The case
.The case of WAMY and specially Haramiain is pathetic where
many of their hostels and programs are waged-off due to
financial constrain.
Another shocking incident is the closing down of Muslims
investments by a Muslim state president creating suffering to
those who depend on this income, social welfare services and
humanitarian assistance. What a president in the millennium
goal!
The epidemic of worldliness.
The new idea of material advancement has completely taken hold
it modern mind as said by Abu Hassan Ali Nadwi, the author of
Islam and the world, IFSO, 1981, page 165.
In the president age of material progress, there is a great
paucity of love for learning, nor is the love of religion much
in evidence .The instinct of hunger has completely dominated
human existence. Everywhere people now talk of problems
concerning the flesh. Conversation on the problem relating to
the spiritual or moral aspects of life in rarely to be heard
in society.
Moral Degradation.
Religion to Muslim youth is now programme of social life
activities. It spiritual value has been taken away by western
values. The prestige of religion has diminished while the
teaching of the Sunah has been forgotten while all those
religion instructions and characters of Islam are now inferior
to western hegemony. If we are to compare the life of youth
today to the youth of Abdallah Ibn Abass, Mussab Ibn Umayr and
Ali Ibn Abi Talib one will wonder if truly we posses the same
ideology, As if the Qur'an of then is not the same as today or
a new "Islam". No wonder Sayyid Qutub envision the
unique Quranic generation in the "milestone".
