“Who Says Slavery Is Over?”: Welcome To The Real World, African Children, Haitian Children

04 April 2010

By Mohamed Awaleh

As an African or African descent for that matter-don’t you feel some times awful about what’s going on around you? And there’s nothing you can do about it. Let’s take for example: watching on your big screen TV and all of a sudden – you spotted some Europeans or North Americans get caught smuggling with little black/African children out of their country. And you probably covering your mouth with anger and feeling sick in the stomach; yet you feel powerless to do anything about it. Especially when you see those thugs get away with those horrendous crimes: child slavery.

Well, I don’t have to tell you the latest news in Somaliland’s missing little girl recently, and probably Djibouti, who usually don’t even bother keep tracking on homeless missing children from Ethiopia and Somalia; and in Haiti, broadcasted on CNN about child abduction by some Americans: perhaps child traffickers/traders. They were being arrested by the Haiti authorities, while they were illegally crossing the Haiti border with some Haitian children, who are victims of the recent earthquake into the Dominican Republic –if you haven’t hear that one yet –welcome to the real World.

Also have you noticed these kidnappers’ relatives or associates, defending these child abductors on national TV; and claiming they were merely helping those poor Haitian children! How could anybody with a right mind use this lame excuses? When these people went to Haiti to take advantage about the chaos created by the earthquake; snatched these children without the consent of their Parents (if they are alive), Guardians or the Haitian government. And they want to make us believe that –‘they were simply big hearted people.’ Wait a minute! Isn’t exactly what the slave traders back in the days used to justify with their actions: we are just civilizing these half-naked primitive people.

Having said that, according to the CNN- these lunatics do not even have a license to operate as an Adoption agency, international or even legally registered as an Orphanage Agency into their own home State of Idaho, U.S. So, what was their purpose of stealing innocent children for; and who’s behind them despite with their weak damage control strategy?

However, they are not alone anyway - they are just being out of luck this time. As far as the justice goes - I have very little faith when it comes to black folks regardless of where they are from or their ages. I am sure these people will not even spend few weeks behind bars; with a huge pressure already brawling from the U.S government and their Agencies, I have no doubt these hoodlums will go free. Just like those 17 French so-called charitable Paris-based organization workers’ of ‘Arche-de-Zoe’ get caught kidnapping with over 100 Chadian children by the local Chadian Authority (Chad, west African country and former French colony) on November 2007 – while smuggling them through neighboring country, the Eastern border to Darfur, Sudan; without the knowledge of their Parents nor the Chadian government in broad day light. (Arche-deZoe is being known to be the notorious child slave trader, who uses their NGO status as a front around Sahara Africa).

Sadly, according to the French press - this Paris-based child slave trader organization already charged these children 8000 euro ($9000) per head to European families as the adoption fees, before these children even set foot into European soil. When the issue becomes international embarrassment to France; the French government – the old colonial master lobbied and make back door deal with the Chadian President, Mr. Idriss Deby. And the government of Chad eventually gave in and gave some of the slave traders with lenient sentences and -the others nicely commuted their jail times or awarded them with Presidential pardon. A month later, the French loud-mouth, President Zarkozy, personally went directly to the Republic of Chad; collected those criminals – and said –they will finish their remaining sentences back in France. Mr. Sarkozy finally took the child slave traders with him in his Presidential Plane. Unfortunately, there are still some African (especially Somalilanders, Somalis and Djiboutian) or African descendant’s children being auctioned at the highest bidder into the Western countries every single day under the disguises of adoption.
