In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the
Most Merciful.
‘The Islamic world …. Issues and chances of
development' was the caption of the periodical meeting
of the Islamic Conference held on 6th and 7th February
2013, in the Egyptian capital Cairo. The heads and
distinguished representatives of 56 Islamic countries
out of total 57 member countries of this organization
participated. The Syrian membership is suspended
because of the ongoing situation and was not given the
right to participate.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which was
previously known as the Organization of Islamic
Conference, was established in a historical summit in
the Moroccan capital Al-Rabat on 25 September 1969.
This organization came into being in the result of the
historical brutality of Zionists when they
intentionally put the Al-Aqsa Mosque on fire on 21st
August 1969 with great barbarism.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation was based on
I'man (belief) and Taqwa (piety). Strengthening of
Islamic brotherhood, defense of the Muslim nations,
unification of the Muslim world, growth of economic
relations among the Muslim countries, helping one
another in solving the issues and restoration of
justice on international level are included in its
objectives.
The twelfth summit of this organization was
inaugurated on last Wednesday with the opening speech
of the Egyptian President, Mr. Mohammad Mursi and its
leadership was also transferred to Egypt. As Egypt is
an important country on the regional and international
level, the hopes of the oppressed Muslim masses will
boost up for the future of this organization regarding
the emancipative optimistic decisions and they will
surely revere this kind of resolutions.
In its history of 44 years, this organization has
backed the oppressed nations and besides supporting
the crucial issue of the Islamic world (i.e. Palestine
issue) has also tried to defend Al-Aqsa Mosque, Babri
Mosque and other Islamic sanctities. In eighties, the
historical decision of the Islamic Conference is
commendable when it firmly stood alongside Afghanistan
against the then Soviet Union and persistently
supported the Afghan nation until the red forces
withdrew from the pious land of Afghanistan. Today it
has girded up its loins to assist the distressed
people of Syria and is trying to relieve the grief of
this Muslim nation.
The Afghan nation is facing a lot of troubles and
miseries since 2001 just because of the occupation and
has kept warm the fronts of Jihad under the leadership
of the Islamic Emirate, hopes that the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation will support them in repossessing
the sovereignty of Afghanistan, establishing an
Islamic government and the reconstruction of
Afghanistan. It will take urgent and serious measures
to solve their intricacies so that the Afghan nation
could decide their destiny by themselves after the
withdrawal of the occupying assassin forces.
