Does Kerry Know What He Is Talking About? We Simply Don't Trust You

We Palestinians cannot afford to allow ourselves to be deceived and bamboozled by the U.S. forever, since this sort of destructive naivety would ultimately spell out our end as a people.

Unfortunately, our leaders, including the late Yasser Arafat and his successor Mahmoud Abbas, allowed themselves to be deceived repeatedly by successive American administrations which, we were told, played the role of "honest broker" between us and Israel.

Our leaders probably trusted the Americans out of frustration and helplessness and also because of a great deal of gullibility on their part.

The truth of the matter, however, is that not only the American administrations were utterly dishonest and malicious, they also failed to openly tell the truth about Israel's lebensraum policy in the West Bank, a policy that has effectively decapitated whatever remaining real chances for the two-state strategy.

We know and the world knows the reason: The U.S. government is thoroughly controlled by Jewish pressure groups, such as AIPAC, so much so that U.S. Congress is effectively more answerable to Israel than it is to its own American constituencies.

Jewish money in America has simply transformed American Congressmen and women into full-fledged political prostitutes.

I am completely confident that most educated Americans, who are also willing to display a modicum of honesty and call the spade a spade, know this cardinal fact quite well. I also know that the American media is reluctant to treat this matter seriously for fear of the Jewish golem in Washington D.C., which casts fear and terror in the hearts of the American political class.

We simply don't trust you

The reason I am delving into this subject now is the latest platitudinous statements about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict made by Secretary of State John Kerry. He has been quoted as saying that the resumption of stalled peace talks between Israel and the PA is imperative because the conflict is a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation.

"It is imperative that we find a way to get back to the negotiations. I still believe that is possible."

Kerry added: "There was not a leader I met with in the region who didn't raise with me spontaneously the need to try to get peace between Israel and the Palestinians because it was a cause of recruitment and street anger and agitation"

Arguing that the unresolved Palestinian-Israeli conflict was fueling support for the Islamic State group, Kerry added that "people need to understand the connection of that, and it has something to do with humiliation and denials and absence of dignity."

Well, it is really lamentable that Kerry is repeating these platitudes now, half a century after the 1967 war. Even freshmen college students majoring in political science or international relations know these facts very well. The fact that it took the U.S. State Department over fifty years to understand this most axiomatic matter is no less than shocking.

It is true that the enduring Palestinian plight is fueling anger throughout the Muslim world. That is not a new discovery by any means. But it is also true that the U.S. has all along been aware of this fact.

None the less, instead of pressuring Israel to give up occupied land for peace, successive American administrations actually chose to enable Israel not only to say "No" to American mediation efforts, despite the utter disingenuousness of these efforts, but also to eliminate virtually all realistic prospects for the establishment of a viable Palestinian state in the West Bank.

It is unlikely that Kerry is unaware of the basic facts pertaining to the enduring conflict. It is quite possible that he is being malicious and just wants to once again dupe the Arabs, especially the current Palestinian leadership into playing the role of the proverbial whore that would greatly facilitate the realization of America's pernicious goals in the region, namely shielding Israel from any potential danger and impeding, as much as possible, the appearance of a genuine Islamic force that would stand in the face of American hegemony and Jewish Nazism.

On this occasion, I would like to remind Kerry of the following facts:

First, it is probably too late for any efforts, especially mediocre American-style efforts in the region, to make a difference. Israel has simply killed any remaining chances for a lasting peace in the region by building so many settlements on occupied territories. Israel has also transferred hundreds of thousands of its own citizens to live on a land that doesn't belong to them. Hence, the creation of a viable Palestinian state is just out of question under current circumstances.

Second, Kerry ought to acknowledge the fact that the U.S. is utterly unable, even if willing, to force Israel to give up the territories occupied in 1967, a sine-qua-non for any semblance of genuine peace in the region. The contemporary domestic American political environment simply doesn't allow for this kind of transformation in U.S. policy toward Israel.

Third, the Palestinian people and Muslims in general will not allow the manifestly weak and vulnerable Palestinian leadership to reach a "peace deal" with Israel, especially one that would be no less than a mere euphemism for capitulation. Indeed, even if our leaders, e.g. Abbas, were to reach such a deal, the deal itself would have a precarious life and wouldn't last long.

Fourth, we the peoples of the region have been fed up with American lies and deception. We heard you ad nauseam promise us to get more serious in peace efforts to end the decades-old Nazi-like Israeli occupation. Indeed, whenever you wanted to carry out a certain agenda in our region, such as toppling Saddam Hussein, and needed to build up an Arab coalition to "get the job done," you vowed to devote every possible effort to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict afterwards.

However, as soon as you "got the job done," you got back to your original default mode, a mode of dishonesty, mendacity and wickedness.

Mr. Kerry, we simply don't trust you. We would be fools to trust you.
