We Want Peace, But Not At Expense Of Islam and Freedom: Civilians Sacrificial Lambs of American Drone Strikes

Peace is the lost gem of every war-torn community who have struggled and sought it (peace) for years upon years. Peace embodies security, wellbeing and brotherhood between tribes and nations and it (peace) is a means of the moral and material prosperity of a people.

The Afghan nation was blessed with model peace and security. An Islamic system was established, tribal, lingual and race prejudices were abolished, power was centralized and those living inside Afghanistan treated each other with respect and brotherly love. The Islamic Emirate worked as a guardian force for its people, serving, protecting and giving people their due rights.

Then suddenly a storm came over our land from the west. It shattered the established peace and security and replaced it with fog of oppression and barbarity. It opened the flood gates of blood, screened the sun of justice and spread the fire of insecurity, immorality and corruption. The Afghan people cried collectively for peace and knocked on the doors of claimants of humanity and human rights, however their voices fell on deaf ears of the 'civilized' world as they blocked their ears and sewed their mouths in the face of unparalleled barbarity of the western invaders.

The Afghan nation has struggled for decade and a half against the western war machine and their internal auxiliary forces for the attainment of peace, moral and ethical development and security. They shall continue their fight until they have demolished the house of occupation and dismantled the idols of hate and deviance, and upon its ashes erected the house of freedom and beautified its cities with such exemplary peace and security that the dreams of the millions of martyrs (Islamic government) reigns supreme.

The Afghan nation has once again presented unprecedented sacrifices in the face of yet another invasion. They have taught the world that the lofty skyscraper of Islam and Afghan valor has never bowed down to terror and threats of any power. Yes, this towering Afghan valor is a witness to the demise of Genghis, English and Soviet Empires and recounts the stories of courage of its people and humiliation of invaders.

We are thirsty for peace, we want peace, we are prepared for peace, but we want true peace, not cosmetic makeovers where peace is used as leverage in war. We are committed to peace to the extent that we will sacrifice our lives for it, however we will not make peace at the expense of our Islamic principles and indepence.

We want everlasting peace where our religion is not ridiculed, our religious values are safeguarded, our Islamic rites respected and source of all rulings are the Holy Quran and Prophetic traditions. Where western culture is banished, foul ideologies of atheism and other aberrations abolished, where our national interests are protected, our frontiers preserved, national sovereignty secured and overall, the divine religion of Islam rules over everything, from government affairs to personal and communal interactions.

(Poetry)

موږ په قراني زیور خپل وطن زیبا غواړو

نه یو غلامان د چا دین د مصطفی غواړو

With gems of sacrifice we seek to beautify our nation

We are not slaves to anyone we only seek the Prophetic religion (Islam)

Civilians: Sacrificial Lambs of American Drone Strikes

Unfortunately the foreign occupiers have once again grieved the Afghan nation, their happiness turned to ashes and anguish.

The occupiers have once again revealed their cruel and wanton face with the murder of women and children. This latest attack came in the form of a drone strike in Nangarhar's Achin district. The drone strike hit Achin's Shadal Bazaar and killed or injured 27 civilians.

It is customary in Afghanistan that once a Muslim performs the religious pilgrimage of Haj and returns home, his friends and family hold a ceremonious gathering to celebrate his pilgrimage. It was one such gathering that was targeted in this so-called precision strike.

The Kabul regime accepts this killing of civilians but has so far failed to condemn the strike and respond regarding the perpetrators.

Recent weeks have witnessed a spike in the killing of civilians as a result of foreign aerial strikes and night raids. These strikes and the resulting civilian loss is not limited to a particular province or region but is happening all across the country. Yet despite the victims attempts neither the regime nor the so-called humanitarian missions have so far condemned this reckless killing.

The media – which religiously and routinely propagate civilian losses by the Taliban – have also remained tight-lipped in this instance.

Below we have provided a brief glimpse of some of civilian losses caused by the foreign occupiers –

On 7 April a drone strike killed 19 civilians including tribal elders in Paktika's Gomal district. According to eye witnesses the victims were being driven in 3 motor vehicles in order to mediate a dispute between two tribes when they were hit.

On the same day another drone strike targeted a respected scholar – Maulawi Abdul Salam – and spiritual leader Pir Qamaruddin as well as 3 other civilians who were traveling in a vehicle in Nangarhar's Pachir Agam district.

On 7 May a drone strike killed two civilians in Kalankichi area of Kandahar's Maiwand district.

On 11 June a drone strike killed 11 civilians in Sipandokach area located between Logar's Azra district and Nangarhar's Hisarak district. Regime MP for Azra district has stated that the strike killed both civilians and Taliban fighters.

On 12 August a drone strike killed 13 civilians in Minary village located in Paktika's Khushamand district. The strike hit Dr Wreshman and all victims were members of his family.
