Trump Doomed To Be Left Alone After Putting A Bomb In Jerusalem, CHP Head Says

Trump has put a bomb in the middle of Jerusalem and hurt us, and he is doomed to be left alone, main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu said late Wednesday.

Slamming U.S. President Donald Trump's move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and relocate the American embassy from Tel Aviv, he said the party will stand alongside "our Palestinian brothers."

"We will support our Palestinian brothers in their just cause. Trump hurt everyone who stands for peace," he said.

"He is doomed to be left alone in the whole world. If he is trying to cover up the problems at home with this decision, he will be mistaken," Kılıçdaroğlu concluded.

All four parties in the Turkish parliament signed a joint statement earlier the same day, declaring Turkey's resolve to reject the United States' decision to recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP), Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) and Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) signed the statement, which emphasized "the absolute and unquestionable resolve of Turkish parliament to reject this dangerous attempt (the U.S.' decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israeli capital) is hereby declared."

As part of his election campaign, U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to relocate the country's embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. The recent move has been opposed by a number of world powers, including France, the U.K., EU, Turkey and the Arab League.

While Israel considers Jerusalem as its capital, the world opposes this, saying that the city's status should be determined in peace talks with Palestinians, who consider the eastern part of the city as their future capital.

Turkey has strongly reacted against the decision and warned the U.S., while President Erdoğan warned the country could cut diplomatic relations with Israel.

Trump's Jerusalem move opens gates of hell on US interests, Hamas says

Palestinian resistance group Hamas said late Wednesday that U.S. President Donald Trump's decision on to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital would "open the gates of hell" on U.S. interests in the region.

"This decision will open the gates of hell on U.S. interests in the region," Ismail Radwan, an official from the group that governs the Gaza Strip, told journalists after Trump's announcement.

He called on Arab and Muslim-majority states to cut off economic and political ties with the U.S. embassy and expel American ambassadors "to cripple" this decision.

The head of the resistance group also accused Trump of disregarding Palestinian feelings with the move.

Ismail Haniyeh said in a statement that the Palestinian people "know how to respond properly to the disregard of their feelings and sanctuaries."

He added that the decision "will not change the facts of history and geography."
