He has created the heavens without any pillars, that you see and has set on the

This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside
Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest!

Ayah 31:12
Walaqad atayna luqmanaalhikmata ani oshkur lillahi waman yashkur
fa-innamayashkuru linafsihi waman kafara fa-inna Allaha ghaniyyun hameed
Sahih International
And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah ."
And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever
denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.
Muhsin Khan
And indeed We bestowed upon Luqman Al-Hikmah (wisdom and religious
understanding, etc.) saying: "Give thanks to Allah," and whoever gives thanks,
he gives thanks for (the good of) his ownself. And whoever is unthankful, then
verily, Allah is All-Rich (Free of all wants), Worthy of all praise.
Pickthall
And verily We gave Luqman wisdom, saying: Give thanks unto Allah; and whosoever
giveth thanks, he giveth thanks for (the good of) his soul. And whosoever
refuseth - Lo! Allah is Absolute, Owner of Praise.
Yusuf Ali
we bestowed (in the past) Wisdom on Luqman: "Show (thy) gratitude to Allah." Any
who is (so) grateful does so to the profit of his own soul: but if any is
ungrateful, verily Allah is free of all wants, Worthy of all praise.
Shakir
And certainly We gave wisdom to Luqman, saying: Be grateful to Allah. And
whoever is grateful, he is only grateful for his own soul; and whoever is
ungrateful, then surely Allah is Self-sufficient, Praised.
Dr. Ghali
And indeed We already brought Luqman (the) wisdom, saying, "Give thanks to
Allah. And whoever gives thanks (to Allah), then surely he gives thanks only for
himself; (i.e., for his own benefit) and whoever disbelieves, then surely Allah
is Ever-Affluent, Ever-Praiseworthy."

Ayah 31:13 الأية
وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ

Sahih International
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing
him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah . Indeed, association
[with him] is great injustice."
Muhsin Khan
And (remember) when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: "O my son!
Join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in worship with
Allah is a great Zulm (wrong) indeed.
Pickthall
And (remember) when Luqman said unto his son, when he was exhorting him: O my
dear son! Ascribe no partners unto Allah. Lo! to ascribe partners (unto Him) is
a tremendous wrong -
Yusuf Ali
Behold, Luqman said to his son by way of instruction: "O my son! join not in
worship (others) with Allah: for false worship is indeed the highest
wrong-doing."
Shakir
And when Luqman said to his son while he admonished him: O my son! do not
associate aught with Allah; most surely polytheism is a grievous iniquity--
Dr. Ghali
And as Luqman said to his son (while) he was admonishing him, "O my son, do not
associate (others) with Allah. Surely associating (others with Allah) is indeed
a monstrous injustice."

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him,
[increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be
grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.
Muhsin Khan
And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother
bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is
in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final
destination.
Pickthall
And We have enjoined upon man concerning his partners - His mother beareth him
in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years - Give thanks unto Me
and unto thy parents. Unto Me is the journeying.
Yusuf Ali
And We have enjoined on man (to be good) to his parents: in travail upon travail
did his mother bear him, and in years twain was his weaning: (hear the command),
"Show gratitude to Me and to thy parents: to Me is (thy final) Goal.
Shakir
And We have enjoined man in respect of his parents-- his mother bears him with
faintings upon faintings and his weaning takes two years-- saying: Be grateful
to Me and to both your parents; to Me is the eventual coming.
Dr. Ghali
And We have enjoined upon man concerning his parents- his mother conceived him
in feebleness upon feebleness, and his weaning was in two seasons. Give thanks
to Me and to your parents; to Me is the Destiny.

Sahih International
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no
knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate
kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then
to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
Muhsin Khan
But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others
that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in
the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and
in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used
to do.
Pickthall
But if they strive with thee to make thee ascribe unto Me as partner that of
which thou hast no knowledge, then obey them not. Consort with them in the world
kindly, and follow the path of him who repenteth unto Me. Then unto Me will be
your return, and I shall tell you what ye used to do -
Yusuf Ali
"But if they strive to make thee join in worship with Me things of which thou
hast no knowledge, obey them not; yet bear them company in this life with
justice (and consideration), and follow the way of those who turn to me (in
love): in the end the return of you all is to Me, and I will tell you the truth
(and meaning) of all that ye did."
Shakir
And if they contend with you that you should associate with Me what you have no
knowledge of, do not obey them, and keep company with them in this world kindly,
and follow the way of him who turns to Me, then to Me is your return, then will
I inform you of what you did--
Dr. Ghali
And in case they (both) strive with you that you associate with Me that of which
you have no knowledge, then do not obey them, and keep them company in the
present (life) (Literally: the lowly "life", i.e., the life of this world) with
beneficence. And closely follow the way of him who (turns) penitent to Me.
Thereafter to Me will be your return; then I will (fully) inform you of whatever
you were doing."

"O my son! If it be (anything) equal to the weight of a grain of mustard seed,
and though it be in a rock, or in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring
it forth. Verily, Allah is Subtle (in bringing out that grain), Well-Aware (of
its place).
Pickthall
O my dear son! Lo! though it be but the weight of a grain of mustard-seed, and
though it be in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will bring it
forth. Lo! Allah is Subtile, Aware.
Yusuf Ali
"O my son!" (said Luqman), "If there be (but) the weight of a mustard-seed and
it were (hidden) in a rock, or (anywhere) in the heavens or on earth, Allah will
bring it forth: for Allah understands the finest mysteries, (and) is
well-acquainted (with them).
Shakir
O my son! surely if it is the very weight of the grain of a mustard-seed, even
though it is in (the heart of) rock, or (high above) in the heaven or (deep
down) in the earth, Allah will bring it (to light); surely Allah is Knower of
subtleties, Aware;
Dr. Ghali
"O my son, surely in case it be the weight of one grain of mustard-seed, and it
be in a rock, or in the heavens, or in the earth, Allah will come up with it;

evil and bad), and bear with patience whatever befall you. Verily! These are
some of the important commandments ordered by Allah with no exemption.
Pickthall
O my dear son! Establish worship and enjoin kindness and forbid iniquity, and
persevere whatever may befall thee. Lo! that is of the steadfast heart of
things.
Yusuf Ali
"O my son! establish regular prayer, enjoin what is just, and forbid what is

of true) resolve concerning His Commands.

Sahih International
Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and
whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent
and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without
knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].
Muhsin Khan
See you not (O men) that Allah has subjected for you whatsoever is in the
heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and has completed and perfected His
Graces upon you, (both) apparent (i.e Islamic Monotheism, and the lawful
pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.) and hidden [i.e.
One's Faith in Allah (of Islamic Monotheism) knowledge, wisdom, guidance for
doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in
Paradise, etc.]? Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge
or guidance or a Book giving light!
Pickthall
See ye not how Allah hath made serviceable unto you whatsoever is in the skies
and whatsoever is in the earth and hath loaded you with His favours both without
and within? Yet of mankind is he who disputeth concerning Allah, without
knowledge or guidance or a scripture giving light.
Yusuf Ali
Do ye not see that Allah has subjected to your (use) all things in the heavens
and on earth, and has made his bounties flow to you in exceeding measure, (both)
seen and unseen? Yet there are among men those who dispute about Allah, without
knowledge and without guidance, and without a Book to enlighten them!
Shakir
Do you not see that Allah has made what is in the heavens and what is in the
earth subservient to you, and made complete to you His favors outwardly and
inwardly? And among men is he who disputes in respect of Allah though having no
knowledge nor guidance, nor a book giving light.
Dr. Ghali
Have you not seen that Allah has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and
whatever is in the earth, and He has conferred upon you His favors, outward and
inward. And of mankind is he who disputed concerning Allah without knowledge,
nor guidance, nor an enlightening Book.

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say,
"Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was

Muhsin Khan
And when it is said to them: "Follow that which Allah has sent down", they say:
"Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following)." (Would they
do so) even if Shaitan (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire.
Pickthall
And if it be said unto them: Follow that which Allah hath revealed, they say:
Nay, but we follow that wherein we found our fathers. What! Even though the
devil were inviting them unto the doom of flame?
Yusuf Ali
When they are told to follow the (Revelation) that Allah has sent down, they
say: "Nay, we shall follow the ways that we found our fathers (following).
"What! even if it is Satan beckoning them to the Penalty of the (Blazing) Fire?
Shakir
And when it is said to them: Follow what Allah has revealed, they say: Nay, we
follow that on which we found our fathers. What! though the Shaitan calls them
to the chastisement of the burning fire!
Dr. Ghali
And when it is said to them, "Closely follow what Allah has sent down, " they
say, "No indeed, (but) we closely follow what we found our fathers (doing)." And
even if Ash-Shaytan (The ever-vicious "one", i.e., the Devil) were calling them
to the torment of the Blaze?

And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good - then he has
grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah will be the outcome of [all]
matters.
Muhsin Khan
And whosoever submits his face (himself) to Allah [i.e.(follows Allah's Religion
of Islamic Monotheism), worships Allah (Alone) with sincere Faith in the (1)
Oneness of His Lordship,(2) Oneness of His worship, and (3) Oneness of His Names
and Qualities], while he is a Muhsin (good-doer i.e. performs good deeds totally
for Allah's sake without any show-off or to gain praise or fame etc. and does
them in accordance with the Sunnah of Allah's Messenger Muhammad SAW), then he
has grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold [La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the
right to be worshipped but Allah)]. And to Allah return all matters for
decision.
Pickthall
Whosoever surrendereth his purpose to Allah while doing good, he verily hath
grasped the firm hand-hold. Unto Allah belongeth the sequel of all things.
Yusuf Ali
Whoever submits his whole self to Allah, and is a doer of good, has grasped
indeed the most trustworthy hand-hold: and with Allah rests the End and Decision
of (all) affairs.
Shakir
And whoever submits himself wholly to Allah and he is the doer of good (to
others), he indeed has taken hold of the firmest thing upon which one can lay
hold; and Allah's is the end of affairs.
Dr. Ghali
And whoever surrenders his face to Allah, and he is a fair-doer, then he has
upheld fast the most binding Grip; and to Allah is the end of (all) Commands.

Shakir
O people! guard against (the punishment of) your Lord and dread the day when a

Verily the knowledge of the Hour is with Allah (alone). It is He Who sends down
