What a Pilgrim should do when he reaches the Miqat

On reaching Miqat, [A place where the Hajj enters the state of Ihram, the prescribed clothes should be put on and the intention for Hajj should be made.] it is desirable for a pilgrim to take a bath and apply perfume. It is reported that before putting on Ihram, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to undress in order to take a bath and apply perfume. It is also recorded in the Hadith collection of Bukhari and Muslim on the authority of `Aishah رضي الله عنها that she used to put perfume on the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم before he put on Ihram. She used to do the same at the time he took off Ihram before his Tawaf (Circumambulation of the Ka'bah).
